Extracurricular Activities
Our extracurricular program at Akiva is meticulously crafted to cultivate diverse skills, critical thinking, and intellectual growth:
Music
Engaging with music stimulates brain development, enhancing creativity, emotional intelligence, and analytical skills. Learning to read music and play instruments strengthens memory and discipline, while group performances build teamwork and confidence.
STEM, Robotics, & Coding
These hands-on programs cultivate problem-solving skills and logical reasoning. Robotics introduces mechanical design and engineering concepts, while coding fosters digital fluency and innovative thinking, preparing students for a technology-driven world.
Traditional & Digital Art
Art: More than just creative expression, our art program strengthens neural connections linked to communication, cognitive development, and fine motor skills. Students explore traditional techniques alongside modern digital tools like Canva and CapCut, gaining skills in graphic design, digital media editing, and content creation. This integration of technology enhances visual-spatial awareness, critical thinking, and prepares students for creative opportunities in the modern world.
Entrepreneurship
Designed to inspire leadership and initiative, this program challenges students to think critically, approach problems with creativity, and develop perseverance. The real-world skills gained empower students to navigate challenges with confidence and resourcefulness.
Gardening
A living classroom, gardening teaches students about ecosystems, sustainability, and responsibility. Caring for plants promotes mindfulness, patience, and observational skills, while also reinforcing biological and environmental concepts.
Chess
Chess sharpens strategic thinking, concentration, and decision-making skills. This timeless game strengthens foresight and cognitive abilities, with studies showing a positive impact on academic performance across multiple subjects.
We are a private learning community dedicated to supporting homeschooling families. Our program offers enrichment opportunities, socialization, and educational resources but is not a substitute for formal daycare, preschool, or childcare services.
